Jeep Wrangler UK Version
Jeep®, the company that created off road cars more than 60 years ago, has won yet another stunning award - and this time it's the one that is recognised as the UKs top accolade.
In addition to scooping the top 4x4 accolade the Wrangler, which first came to the UK in right hand drive form back in January 1993, is also the class winner in the Hardcore category. And the award-winning 4.7-litre Jeep Grand Cherokee V8 Limited came top for the third year running in the magazine's Luxury category.
David Sutherland, Editor of 4x4 said of the Wrangler's double success: With big grunt from its 4.0-litre engine, excellent approach and departure angles, and brilliant visibility from the driver's seat, the Wrangler has everything a serious off-roader needs. But it has more too: style and charisma sufficient to make every journey made in the American icon an adventure."
On the Grand Cherokee Sutherland added: "There's still no rival that offers the same combination of on and off-road ability, comfort, refinement and keen pricing - and not forgetting of course, the vehicle's sheer style.
The 4x4 annual awards have been running for more than a decade and an amazing 84 off-road vehicles participated in this year's event. Awards were split into 11 categories ranging from Budget to Compact Off-roaders.
The Jeep Wrangler comes in three specification levels - Sport, Sahara and Sahara Auto, with prices ranging from £15,725 - £18,995 on the road. It is powered by a four-litre, six-cylinder engine which delivers a blend of lively performance and effortless cruising.
